The Goodwill Marketing Team recently did some crafting to prepare for our upcoming Ugly Sweater Workshops and I turned on some Christmas music to get us in the mood. It really got me in the Christmas spirit, and I am now going full steam ahead on Christmas preparations.
I love Christmas; it is just such a marvelous time of year with the family, friends, food, and the festivities. I spend a lot of time and energy picking out the perfect presents for my friends and family, because the ideal present to me is something unique that they will enjoy and that also doesn’t break the bank; that is not always easy to find!
I recently took a trip to Goodwill to see if I could find some gifts for my family that would keep me within my budget while still giving them something unique and amazing. I found a lot of really amazing gifts, and so I have put together a Goodwill Gift Guide to give you inspiration for your own holiday shopping.
Children
There are often a plethora of new or gently used toys and stuffed animals at Goodwill. I found a Thomas the Tank Engine table for a little railroad enthusiast, a safari hat for the young adventurer, and the most adorable stuffed lamb.
Women
Housewares, decorative items, and high quality clothes are almost always easy to find at our local Goodwills. I love the decorative items that I found when looking for a present for my mom; the coasters are my personal favorite.
Men
I think men are harder to shop for, no matter where you are looking, and I still managed to find several things that I would give to my family members. I never struggle to find high quality men's shirts and pants at Goodwill.
Young Adults
It can be tricky to find something to give to family members that fall into this category, but I spotted many things that would make excellent gifts depending on the age of the recipient. I love to look through the scarves at Goodwill, because there is always something unique, and this little cup that I found would make an adorable vase or desk decoration.
I enjoyed shopping Goodwill for my family’s gifts. Usually when I visit Goodwill I am just shopping for myself and this made me look at everything through different eyes. In this season of giving, I am proud to not only be giving my family gifts I know that they will love, but also giving back to my community through an organization that provides job training to those who need it. Read my recent story about Johnny to learn more about Goodwill’s good work. This year, let your holiday shopping make a big impact by shopping at Goodwill. Find a store near you.
