At Goodwill, we love a creative and hand-made costume! We scoured the internet and found these three no-sew DIY costumes that can be made easily with finds from Goodwill. Follow the directions step-by-step, or use them as a starting point for your own creative ideas.
Get Batty!
Bats and Halloween go together like peanut butter and jelly! Go with a simple version of a classic - all you need for this look is:
- 1-1/2 yards black fabric (cotton, jersey knit, lace or sequins work well; look for the color of the week to purchase your fabric source at half price at Goodwill)
- A classic little black dress
- 6 inches of 1/8-inch elastic (any color)
- Headband
- Thick black fabric (leather, felt or even a thick black cotton work)
- Hot glue
A Modern Queen of Hearts
This costume is super easy, but highly recognizable. All you need is:
- A red formal dress, easily found at Goodwill
- A deck of cards
- A stapler
- Bobby pins
- Heart-shaped accessories (optional)
- A crown or tiara
A Costume in a Jiffy (Pop)
Who doesn't love a good food costume? We do! This looks is so easy to create, yet quirky and wearable! All you need is:
- A red and white striped skirt or dress
- A white tee
- White paper
- Yellow spraypaint or highlighters
- Hot glue
- A classic popcorn container (optional)
